COMMON MINI-SPLIT PROBLEMS WE REPAIR
Mini-Split Problems We Fix
Not Cooling or Not Heating
If your unit runs but can’t reach the set temperature, the cause is often a refrigerant leak, a faulty compressor, or a dirty evaporator coil. We diagnose and fix the root cause — not just top off refrigerant and leave.
Error Codes on the Display
Modern mini-splits communicate faults through error codes. We read and interpret manufacturer-specific codes for all brands we service, perform targeted diagnostics, and resolve the underlying fault.
Ice Buildup on the Indoor or Outdoor Unit
Ice formation usually indicates restricted airflow, a refrigerant charge issue, or a malfunctioning defrost cycle. Left untreated, it causes compressor damage. We identify the cause and prevent recurrence. If your system doubles as a heat pump, see our heat pump repair page for heating-specific faults.
Water Leaking from the Indoor Unit
A clogged condensate drain line is the most common cause. We clear the blockage, inspect the drain pan, and check the installation angle to prevent the issue from returning.
Unusual Noises (Clicking, Rattling, Grinding)
Rattling often means a loose panel or debris in the unit. Grinding or screeching points to motor or fan blade issues. We identify the source and repair it before it escalates to a compressor failure.
Remote Control or Wi-Fi Not Responding
Control board faults, sensor failures, or communication errors between indoor and outdoor units can all cause control issues. We test the full control circuit and replace faulty components as needed.

Why Choose Fuse Service for Your Mini-Split Repair
Licensed EPA-Certified Technicians
Every repair is performed by a licensed, EPA 608-certified technician — not a subcontractor. We diagnose the actual cause of the problem, not just the symptom, so the same issue doesn’t come back in three months.
Same-Day Service Available
A broken mini-split in Seattle’s summer heat or a cold winter snap can’t wait a week. We offer same-day service calls and prioritized scheduling to get your system back online as fast as possible.
Upfront Pricing — No Surprises
You’ll receive a clear written quote before any repair work begins. No hidden diagnostic fees rolled into the final bill, no surprise charges after the job is done. The price we quote is the price you pay.
All Major Brands Serviced
We repair Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG, Trane, Carrier, and other leading ductless brands. Our technicians are factory-trained on the systems they work on — not guessing from a generic manual.

Areas We Serve
We repair mini-split systems across King County and Snohomish County. Whether you’re in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, or further out in Everett or Bothell — we’ll have a technician at your door the same day in most cases.
REPAIR VS. REPLACE — WHEN TO CONSIDER EACH
Should You Repair or Replace Your Mini-Split?
Not every repair is worth making. As a general rule: if your system is under 8–10 years old and the repair cost is less than 50% of replacement cost, repair is usually the better call. If the compressor has failed on a system over 10 years old, or if you’re facing your second or third major repair in two years, mini-split replacement often delivers better long-term value.
We’ll give you an honest assessment — not a push toward whichever option costs more. If replacement makes more sense, we’ll tell you that upfront and provide a quote for a new system if you want one.
